24.01.06 - SIMBA COMPLETES CULTIPRESS RANGE

Simba is adding a seventh size of Cultipress to its range with the launch of the eight metre version of the popular cultivator/press – which has been the company’s biggest selling model in recent years.

CultipressCultipresses combine leading tines, a hydraulically adjustable levelling board ahead of a 600mm DD ring double press, the combined actions of these elements enabling it to cultivate, level and consolidate the soil, leaving a stale seedbed that needs no further work ahead of drilling. It is also highly effective at working down ploughing.

On the 8m model both the levelling board and press are divided into four sections, so they contour follow very effectively, ensuring they leave an even surface that facilitates excellent drilling speeds.

As an option, the 25 leading tines (set at 30cm spacings) can be mounted on Simba’s Pro-Active leaves, a wide single piece leaf which offers optimum protection against damage by stones and obstructions, as well as enhancing their cultivation effect and their ability to work in trashy conditions by allowing greater vibration.

The new model folds to 2.95m wide; 3.6m high and 5.5m length for transport, with the implement tilting forwards, before the wings fold forwards beside the frame prior to locking into place for safe road transport.

It needs between 300hp – 350hp to achieve an operating speed of between eight and 11 kph, exact output depending on soil type and conditions. It typically applies between 1,080kgs/m and 1,300kgs/m weight, with he option of the drawbar and centre frame elements being borne on the transport wheels in softer and lighter conditions.

The new model has a list price of £49,400, and its introduction means the Cultipress is now available in widths of 3.3m, 4.0m, 4.6m, 5.5m, 6.6m, 8m and 10m.
