05.09.07 - SEE THE LD LEG WORKING AT TILLAGE
You have got slightly less time to wait for the Tillage events, with the Southern event being held on Thursday 13th September at Landmead Farm, East Hannay, Abingdon, Oxfordshire and the Northern event at Stapleton Park Estate, Darrington, North Yorkshire.
Our new LD (Low Disturbance) leg will be demonstrated in public for the first time at these events. This leg performs an effective sub-surface restructuring operation without disturbing the surface, so the tilth stays on the surface and no wet soil is pulled up to the top from deeper in the seedbed.
With so many fields not benefiting from the drying/wetting cycle that normally helps re-structure soil over the summer, we suspect that there will be a lot of interest from those wishing to perform a deeper cultivation to restore soil structure and drainage, but who want to reduce power requirements and retain the tilth on the surface to get crops - especially oilseed rape - off to an effective start.
