This year’s Out Of Season refurbishment scheme has been the busiest ever, with Colin Adams, After Sales/Service Director, reporting a 50% increase in business, both for the re-blading and refurbishment service and for out of season parts orders
“Many more farmers are taking advantage of these schemes, firstly to restore their machines to their original working efficiency by replacing things like disc blades and DD rings, but also to obtain the latest upgrades, so that while their machine might be several years old, it is actually capable of doing a better job once updated than when they originally bought it!
The increased parts business reflects two things; firstly – the rising population of Simba machines at work on arable farms, and secondly the increasing number of farmers who are taking the opportunity to order parts ‘out of season’. As well as securing better prices, they effectively buy the security of knowing that they already have in store all the wearing metal they are likely to need in 2008. How much is that peace of mind worth?”.
