STRENGTHENED SUPPORT
Portraits of Ben and Euan
Simba Horsch is strengthening the support it provides to customers and dealers by expanding its After Sales and Components Division, and re-organising it into two specialist teams.
Colin Adams, Director of the After Sales and Components Division, says the changes are in response to a massive growth in Simba’s business – both in the UK and key export markets - and the extra workload this is creating for the division.
Euan Adamson is now Aftersales Manager for Parts, while Ben Covell is Aftersales Manager for Service, both working with dedicated teams combining existing employees and new appointments.
“Simba’s parts sales from January to July 2008 were up by 51% over the same period in 2007, with over 75% of that volume ordered online”, says Colin:
“To meet this growing ‘on-line’ traffic we have launched a new confidential dealer/partner section to our website to help our dealers and importers access all the information they need, and stay abreast of any changes or news from the Division.
“Some of that rise is explained by the need to support a growing population of Simba equipment. That increase will continue thanks to healthy sales of both Simba equipment in Britain and Europe – led by the SL cultivator range – and Simba Horsch sales, with the Pronto DC being the best selling trailed cultivator drill in the British market.
“But in addition we find more farmers are buying wearing and consumable parts ‘out of season’ because downtime is more expensive than wearing metal! By getting their season’s parts in their farm workshop before they start cultivations and crop establishment they minimise disruption in season, and also insure themselves against either price increases, supply problems or shortages”.
