TILLSO LTD TO MARKET SIMBA ROLLERS
Completely effective consolidation
- from Simba and Tillso
Marketing and sales of Simba’s range of consolidation tools for the retro-fit market is being transferred to Tillso Ltd, based at Thorney, near Peterborough.
Tillso Ltd is owned and run by Chris Lane, Simba’s agent for the USA, who will be assisted by Philip Wright, previously Simba’s Technical Director, and now a retained consultant to the company. Philip runs Wright Resolutions, his own agricultural engineering consultancy, with Simba and Tillso being two key clients in both the UK and overseas business.
The move is being made to enable Simba staff to concentrate on the company’s fast- growing core business and product ranges.
Explaining the move, Colin Adams, Director of the After Sales and Components’ Division – that previously handled this work – said: “The key to success in fitting consolidation rollers in the UK retrofit market is delivering products to individual customer specification and – in most situations – fitting the implement to competitor machines. Enabling our staff to offer such a ‘bespoke’ service was proving very difficult in light of the pressure on their time.
Tillso Ltd will purchase genuine Simba components for manufacture and assembly. Farmers will still have access to the widest and most effective range of consolidation rollers in the industry. Simba will continue to offer its DD re-ringing services via its existing dealer network”.
Simba will continue to make all rollers for its own machines, as well as the rollers supplied to other manufacturers such as Lynx Engineering for fitting to front rollers, and Horsch gmbh for fitting to its equipment. “We believe this move is right for all parties, and will ensure customers receive an excellent service”.
For Tillso, Chris Lane said: “Tillso’s aim is not only to manufacture Simba rollers, but to provide a bespoke service to its customers.
“While most customers will only want a basic roller, most have insufficient time to fabricate mounting brackets and frames, and will need some specialist engineering input. This may be purely in connection with the roller, or in improving the efficiency of the whole cultivator.
By working with customers individually we hope to develop innovative products for the industry, and having such well-proven Simba components available to us will help greatly in this respect”.
