Turning stubble into a well cultivated seedbed
Simba 'sets the standard' for disc harrows, with its ranges enabling farmers of all sizes to achieve cost effective seedbed preparation across all main soil types.
When combined with a following press Simba discs can turn stubble - with or without spread straw - into a well cultivated and consolidated stale seedbed in one pass.
The company's C Series discs perform a unique "progressive" cultivation that has several key advantages over conventional discings. One these harrows the rear discs are slightly larger than those on the front gang and set at wider spacings on the axle. As a result both gangs cut fresh soil, improving penetration and maintenance of working depth while also reducing side drafts and crabbing.

Because the full working depth is reached in two steps the size of clods produced is limited, leading to a finer seedbed. The wider spacings of the rear discs assists trash flow through the machine, enabling it to work successfully in trashy and moist conditions. The choice of model will depend on the soil types and job required, while the size is likely to be selected according to the acreage to be covered and the desired workrate.
The 23C Series includes 4.4m, 5.4m 6.15m and 7m models which can cope with the often significant stubble, trash and spread straw which might be need to be incorporated when performing primary cultivations to 75mm - 175mm on medium to heavy land. They typically require 45hp/m.
