The New DTX 300

Reduced tillage needn’t be heavy going

The new DTX 300 effectively fills one of the last remaining gaps in Simba’s range of reduced tillage equipment. Fitting in between the Mounted X-Press and ST Bar combination and the heavier Trailed Solo 330 and recently introduced SL400, it completes an impressive line-up.

Outstanding versatility

Designed as a mounted one-pass stubble incorporator/soil loosener for tractors in the 200-300hp range, the DTX 300 is extremely versatile.

It can be used in a number of different ways, for example, as a first entry machine into non-inversion tillage or to knock down ploughing, whilst loosening down to 400mm (16”).

It is also ideally suited to establishing oilseed rape straight into stubble, as it leaves a very level, fine and consolidated seedbed.

Good trash clearance

The mounted machine does have very good trash clearance. The front tines are staggered and the fully adjustable discs can have greater or lesser angle applied.

Pro-Lift TinesPro-Lift TinesA: Pro-Lift Loosening Tines (LD Tines Optional)

The DTX 300 is fitted as standard with five Simba Pro-Lift loosening tines. Designed to work down to 400mm (16”) with minimal draught, the Pro-Lift system excels in heavier soils and situations where deeper loosening is required. The Pro-Lift legs give you a choice of three wing options to suit the degree of lift and shatter required.

For shallow working (down to 250mm (10”)) the LD Tine can be fitted in lieu of the Pro-Lift leg.

B: Two rows of adjustable discs

The tines are followed by two rows of cultivation discs. Mounted individually the discs are spaced at 250mm (10”). Measuring 500mm (20”) in diameter, their rotational speed is far greater than more conventional discs. Chopping and mixing is enhanced, and a finer seedbed is achieved.

A simple turnbuckle is used to adjust the disc working angle and to vary how aggressively the soil is worked. An acute angle ensures maximum mixing of stubble in one pass. A shallow angle is often used to ‘chop down’ ploughing as and when required.

Pro-Active disc units are fitted as standard to give optimum protection against stone damage.

C: DD Lite Rear Roller

At the rear of the machine is a full width DD Lite roller. Featuring 600mm (24”) diameter shouldered press rings, it consolidates the ground through to depth, whilst leaving a friable surface. This type of roller does not have the weight penalty of other larger diameter rollers, which can be a problem, particularly in road transport.

The new Aqueel 2 roller 600mm (24”) is an option to the DD Lite roller and is suitable on lighter soil types, or in very wet conditions.
