Roadgrader
Simba offer two models of road grader - the RG3HD which is designed to work in severe conditions, and the RG3 which is more suited to lighter duty tasks, where axle loads and traffic levels are lower, soils are lighter or where weight is a less important consideration.
Both models provide users with effective and economic maintenance of unsurfaced rural roads, such as those found on many farms, country estates and servicing rural businesses like forestry plantations etc. Both are single-axle trailed implements which can be towed by tractors of 70hp - 80hp and above. At around 5 metres long, they can be transported like a conventional farm trailer.
The Graders use either a 3.00m or a 4.00m blade made from reversible/replaceable sections.
The blade can be angled to work deeper at the road edge than in the middle, so it pulls material from the side towards the middle to help create a camber which enables water to drain off the road surface. The front to rear angle of the blade can also be altered to take account of different working conditions and materials.
The machine's operator - standing on a platform above the blade - has an excellent view of all the machine's working parts, as well as the road surface to be graded. From this position it is easy to adjust overall blade height, the degree of camber and the front/back angle of work using hydraulic controls run directly from the tractor.
